“Up until I was 45 years old, I had a string of jobs after dropping out from the polytechnic. I fried French fries in McDonald’s, bought and sold houses as a property agent; ran a car hire service, built an e-commerce start up and marketed household appliances while trading stocks on the side. They all didn’t amount to much,” Mr Kenneth Kam shares candidly.

The trader-entrepreneur, philanthropist and life mentor recounts how, while riding life’s ups and downs, he received much love, support, and encouragement from family and friends. Only when he started trading full-time did he find his niche, his place in the world.

The inspiration drawn from his diverse life experiences led Mr Kam to set up Kenn Foundation. His financial and personal struggles made him realise the value of giving and inspired him to reach out to those who face similar situations.

He established the Kenn Foundation in the hope of sharing his vision of creating a community with equal opportunities for education and employment, where people enjoy a better life with financial freedom and security.

A message from Mr Kam to his younger self?

“Do your best. Find your own balance, or equilibrium in life. And when you have found your niche, your place in the world, remember to give back.”

“Giving is really the richest form of receiving because of the joy it brings to those in need. That’s why I continue giving. I hope others will too.”
